AOL Port 25 Blocking – Alternate SMTP Ports
AOL blocks outgoing email traffic on SMTP port 25. This means you cannot send email from another ISP’s email accounts using port 25. To resolve this issue, Fast2Host provides alternate SMTP ports.
Windows Hosting
Use alternate SMTP port: 49
- SMTP Server:
mail.yourdomain.com - Port: 49
- Authentication: Enabled (use your full email address and password)
- Encryption: SSL/TLS recommended if supported
Linux Hosting (cPanel)
Use alternate SMTP port: 26
- SMTP Server:
mail.yourdomain.com - Port: 26
- Authentication: Enabled (use your full email address and password)
- Encryption: SSL/TLS recommended if supported
Best Practices
- Always enable SMTP authentication in your email client.
- Use SSL/TLS encryption whenever possible for secure transmission.
- If you continue to experience issues, check with your ISP to confirm they are not blocking alternate ports.
✔ Tip: If port 25 is blocked, switching to Fast2Host’s alternate SMTP ports (49 for Windows, 26 for Linux) will allow you to send email reliably.
